Sorry, The Republican Candidates Are Not Clowns. They Are Much More Dangerous Than That!

27 Jul

Absolutely true. Clowns are funny. These people are dangerous.

Lean Left

In a couple of weeks the Republicans will hold their first debate of the 2016 Presidential Race.  Yeah, I know, it is probably too early for such things, but after all, it is only about six months away from Iowa and New Hampshire.  So, with a total of 16 candidates, and probably more before the whole thing gets really going, they probably think it is time to weed out some of the less likely successful candidates.

The problem I am having with the current crop, isn’t that they are running.  It is what is coming out of their mouths.  A lot of people in the media, especially on the left, are calling a number of the current crop of Republicans “wackos” or “cuckoo-birds” or “clowns.”  Sorry, I won’t buy into that description.  It is far worse than that.

The problem I see is that these people are actually describing their…

This Vet Says Take Your Bumper Sticker Saying “Support Our Troops” And Shove It!

21 Jul

Absolutely correct. Supporting our troops includes supporting them after they leave the service. Veterans deserve more support than these chicken hawks are willing to provide when it comes time to fund the VA, among other things.

If that headline makes you angry, you aren’t even close to the rage I have right now.  We have seen them everywhere.  “Support our troops” stickers, magnets, slogans are all around us.  But, I have to say that hardly anyone really means it.  I am sticking to that comment.  To tell you the truth, I am one really pissed off veteran.

The other day the Donald started a ruckus when he said John McCain wasn’t a “hero” because he was “captured.”  He went on to say that “I like those who weren’t captured.”  It only proves that Trump has no idea what it is to serve.  But, of course, Trump never did serve so he wouldn’t know anything about it.

I have the same feeling for the vast majority of politicians, candidates, and ordinary people.  They have no idea what it is to serve, but yet they want you to…

What did the man who Bernie Sanders today claims as his personal hero really stand for? Elizabeth Schulte tells the story of American socialism’s best-known figure.

IT’S NOT your typical presidential candidate who identifies as a socialist, but Bernie Sanders does. A poster of Eugene V. Debs, the popular Socialist Party leader of the early 20th century, hangs on his office wall as a tribute to Sanders’ self-proclaimed hero.

Have A Nice Summer – With Budget Crisis Looming It Will Certainly Be A Lousy Autumn

It is July 7, 2015 and Congress has returned to session from their Fourth of July break.  There are a lot of things that need to be done before October.  Now, to some that may seem a long way away.  But since Congress isn’t known for working at breakneck speed, that is really not far away.

However, the Highway and Transportation Fund is about to run out of money a whole lot faster.  As you may have known, I took a trip back to Chicago over the weekend to help celebrate my mother’s 90th birthday.  I drove through 5 states each way.  Let me tell you, the roads in the country are getting worse and worse, and nothing is really being done about it.

When I was driving on the Interstate System, I must admit that I had smoother rides on board ship in 15 foot seas than I had…
